The 10.4-inch G+G capacitive touch panel is a standalone projected capacitive touch solution for equipment that needs a larger multi-touch interface without using an integrated touch display module.
Its G+G construction combines a glass cover with an ITO glass sensor, providing a solid front surface for repeated finger operation. The panel supports up to 10 simultaneous touch points and uses an I²C interface, making it suitable for systems where the touch function is designed separately from the display.
The panel is specified for -30°C to +70°C operation and -40°C to +80°C storage. Chemically strengthened soda-lime glass is used for the cover, while the panel provides 85% minimum transmittance. These characteristics make it a practical option for control equipment, terminals, and other embedded systems where the touch panel may need to accommodate both multi-touch interaction and a relatively broad temperature range.
The G+G structure uses a glass cover and glass sensor rather than a film-based sensor structure. With a 1.8 mm chemically strengthened cover, it provides a firm touch surface for equipment that is operated directly by hand.
The panel supports up to 10 touch points, allowing interfaces to use gestures such as pinch, zoom, and two-finger navigation where the host software supports them. For simpler interfaces, the additional touch capacity can also be left unused.
The specified operating range is -30°C to +70°C, with storage from -40°C to +80°C. This gives system designers more latitude when the equipment may be installed in environments with significant temperature variation.
The touch panel is specified for ±15 kV air discharge and ±8 kV contact discharge. ESD performance is particularly relevant when the front surface is directly accessible to operators. Actual system-level ESD performance will still depend on grounding, enclosure design, and the final integration.
With 85% minimum touch transmittance, the panel is suitable for integration over a separate display without unnecessarily restricting the amount of light reaching the user.
Because this is a touch panel rather than a complete touch display, the touch layer can be considered separately from the LCD selection. This can be useful when an existing display, custom LCD, or independently designed display assembly needs a capacitive touch interface.

Suitable for operator interfaces where users need to select parameters, navigate menus, or interact with multiple controls on a larger touch surface.
The 10.4-inch format gives designers enough area for graphical controls while multi-touch capability leaves room for more modern interface designs.
The larger touch area can accommodate navigation, selection, and on-screen controls without requiring physical buttons across the front panel.
Useful for instruments where operators need to interact with graphs, measurement parameters, menus, or other information-dense interfaces.
As a standalone PCAP panel, it can be integrated with a separately selected LCD and system electronics when the display and touch requirements need to be specified independently.

Yes. Since this is a standalone touch panel, it can be considered separately from the LCD. Mechanical alignment, active area, viewing area, cover dimensions, and the touch controller/interface should be checked against the target display before integration.
No. The panel supports up to 10 simultaneous touch points, but the actual number used depends on the host system and application software. A product can use simple single-finger controls while retaining the option for multi-touch interaction.
The specified ESD ratings are ±15 kV air and ±8 kV contact. However, these are touch-panel specifications rather than a guarantee of the complete equipment's IEC ESD performance. Grounding, bezel construction, shielding, and system-level protection should be considered during integration.
The important points are not only the diagonal size. The active/view area, outline dimensions, cover shape, mounting arrangement, and optical alignment all need to match the LCD and front enclosure. The I²C touch interface and 3.3 V supply should also be compatible with the host electronics.
No. The specified operating range is -30°C to +70°C, while the storage range is -40°C to +80°C. The two limits should be treated separately when evaluating the equipment's environmental requirements.
