The FN0500P083A is a 5 inch projected capacitive touch panel designed for embedded systems that require reliable multi-touch input and durable glass construction. Its G+G structure, chemically strengthened cover glass, and extended operating temperature range make it suitable for industrial equipment, control panels, and OEM display integration.
The touch panel adopts a Glass-to-Glass (G+G) construction, combining a glass sensor with a glass cover lens. Compared with film-based touch structures, G+G designs are commonly selected where optical stability and long-term durability are priorities.
The most suitable touch structure still depends on the application's impact resistance, cost target, and installation environment.
The 1.1 mm chemically strengthened cover glass provides additional resistance to scratches and everyday mechanical wear.
For applications exposed to frequent user interaction, strengthening helps improve long-term durability, although it should not be considered a substitute for impact-rated protective glass where vandal resistance is required.
Supporting 5-point touch, the panel allows simultaneous touch inputs for applications that require gesture recognition or more flexible user interaction than single-touch systems.
Whether multi-touch is beneficial depends on software design and the intended operating workflow.
With an operating temperature range of -30°C to +80°C, the touch panel is suitable for equipment installed in environments where temperature fluctuations exceed typical office conditions.
Final environmental performance should always be evaluated together with the LCD module and enclosure.
The panel communicates through an I2C interface and can be integrated with a wide range of LCD modules. Depending on project requirements, parameters such as cover glass appearance, printing, FPC layout, and connector design can typically be customized.

G+G touch panels are commonly selected for applications requiring better optical stability, improved rigidity, and greater resistance to surface wear. Film-based structures may still be appropriate when weight or cost is the primary concern.
No. Chemical strengthening improves the glass's resistance to scratches and everyday mechanical stress, but applications requiring vandal resistance or certified impact protection may require thicker cover glass or additional mechanical design.
Multi-touch is beneficial for gesture-based interfaces, map navigation, or applications requiring simultaneous user inputs. For simple menu-driven HMIs, additional touch points may not provide significant practical advantages.
Yes. As a standalone projected capacitive touch panel, it can typically be integrated with compatible LCD modules depending on mechanical dimensions and optical requirements.
Depending on the project, customization may include cover glass thickness, silk printing, logo printing, surface treatment, FPC routing, connector type, and controller configuration.
