Application Case Study
Product: FN1900P006A
Type: Industrial Capacitive Touch Panel (No Display)
A system integrator was developing a 19-inch industrial HMI terminal for factory-floor equipment.
The display module had already been selected, but the project stalled at the touch interface stage.
Their challenges were not about “whether capacitive touch works,” but about long-term reliability and integration risk.
High-glare environment
The terminal was installed near overhead lighting and reflective metal surfaces, making standard clear glass difficult to read and uncomfortable for operators.
Mechanical durability requirements
The HMI was frequently operated with repeated tapping and occasional impact. Consumer-grade touch panels failed hardness and strength tests.
Controller compatibility and stability
The mainboard only supported IIC interface, and previous USB-based touch solutions introduced driver instability and EMI issues.
Temperature and humidity fluctuations
The system needed to operate reliably in non-climate-controlled industrial spaces, including seasonal temperature changes and high humidity.
The AG-treated chemically strengthened cover glass reduced reflections significantly while maintaining sufficient optical transmittance (≥82%).
This improved visibility under factory lighting without requiring higher display brightness or additional optical films.
3.0 mm cover glass with ≥7H surface hardness
G+G structure for better impact resistance and long-term stability
This combination met the customer’s mechanical durability expectations without increasing overall module thickness beyond system constraints.
The touch panel uses the mxT2952TD controller, supporting:
IIC interface
Fixed IIC address (0x4A)
40 TX × 50 RX sensor channels
This allowed direct integration with the existing control board, eliminating USB conversion boards and reducing system-level EMI risks.
Designed to operate from -20°C to +70°C, with storage up to +80°C and humidity tolerance up to 90%, the panel remained stable during long-term environmental testing and on-site trials.
By adopting the FN1900P006A industrial touch panel, the customer achieved:
Faster system integration with no controller redesign
Improved operator visibility in reflective environments
Reduced field failure risk compared to consumer-grade touch solutions
A modular HMI design where touch panel and display could be sourced independently
Industrial HMI terminals
Factory control panels
Equipment-mounted operator interfaces

FAQ
No. FN1900P006A is a touch panel only product.
It is designed for projects where the display module and touch interface are sourced separately, allowing greater flexibility in system design, optical selection, and cost control.
The panel is optimized for finger touch operation.
Glove or stylus performance depends on glove material and thickness, as well as controller firmware tuning. For special input requirements, customization or sensitivity adjustment should be evaluated at project level.
The IIC interface is commonly used in embedded industrial controllers, ARM-based boards, and custom control systems where direct touch integration is required.
It is especially suitable for designs aiming to avoid USB touch bridges and additional driver layers.
In addition to industrial HMI terminals, FN1900P006A is well suited for:
Equipment-mounted control interfaces
Industrial kiosks with separated display architecture
Medical or laboratory equipment interfaces (non-consumer use)
Automation systems requiring customized front glass and housing design
Its touch-only structure makes it ideal for modular system designs where the display and enclosure are defined by the integrator.
Yes. While FN1900P006A uses a 3.0 mm AG chemically strengthened cover glass as standard, surface treatment, glass thickness, and edge design can be customized depending on project requirements, subject to engineering evaluation.
